Gas Prices Continue to Drop at Connecticut Pumps

The average price per gallon in the state is now at $3.92, according to GasBuddy.com.

Filling up the tank in Connecticut has been less painful this past week! According to GasBuddy.com, the average price of a gallong of gas has fallen nearly two cents this week to a state-wide average of $3.92, as of Sunday.

The decrease marks the second straight week of declining prices in Connecticut and across the country. On average, the national price of gas is $3.66 per gallon, a drop of 3.2 cents from last week, according to GasBuddy.com.

"Relief at the pump has continued for motorists in a majority of the United States during the last week," said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan. "I would caution motorists, however, not to sound the all clear. Refineries will be continuing their switch over to cleaner burning gasoline, and there certainly is the possibility that one mishap could send prices racing higher, much to the disappointment of motorists nationwide," DeHaan said.

GasBuddy.com broke down the prices further. The cost per gallon in Connecticut yesterday was 4.8 cents cheaper than one year ago, but is 3.4 cents higher compared to a month ago.

The trend is similar nationwide, according to GasBuddy.com. The national average was 8.8 cents higher a year ago, but is 10.2 cents higher than last month.
