Connecticut Chuckles VIII is gloating.
The official state groundhog lives at the Lutz Children’s Museum in Manchester. She was just sworn in by Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman last week. It seems that she got her first prediction 100% right.
The crowd groaned when Chuckles announced that she had seen her shadow on Groundhog Day. Manchester Mayor Leo Diana, who is fluent in groundhog, explained that winter would be staying around for a while.
Some viewers actually said they preferred the prediction of another weather predicting rodent that lives in Pennsylvania. “I don’t believe in pandering to the audience. I am a public servant sworn to telling the truth”, said Chuckles this morning. “I recommend that all animals stay in their burrows until this dangerous weather passes”.
Asked if she had a message for Phil, Chuckles said “Don’t feel bad. We all make mistakes.”
