Calling All Scarecrows

The Downtown Manchester Special Services District is seeking contestants for the 3rd annual Downtown Manchester Scarecrow Display and Contest.

Scarecrows wanted!

Businesses, organizations and interested individuals are invited to create a family-friendly Scarecrow for display in historic downtown Manchester during a three week period in the month of October. The Scarecrows will be placed in assigned locations throughout the Downtown beginning Oct. 9. Participants must register to participate.

Prizes will be awarded during a ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 29. The public will be able to choose the prizewinners by placing their ballots in drop-off boxes located in various downtown businesses. In 2010, over 40 scarecrows were on display. Event organizers are hoping to increase that number to 50 this year.
