But I need to work

I just recently had a family leave my center because they felt that they could get cheaper care elsewhere. I understand that it is a tough financial state for working parents these days and four years of daycare can cost up to $60,000.00. So what is a parent to do?
I always tell my parents that the choice of working or staying home should balance two things. 1. That you are moving up the job ladder or maintaining your security by staying in the workplace. 2. You enjoy working and financially it still brings in money even after daycare costs. If you are not meeting those criteria then daycare is not for you and you should explore staying home.
Cheaper may equal the same but it can backfire too. The cost of daycare is based on location, qualifications of staff, and services offered. If you leave a center that you love because of cost please be sure that the daycare you're moving to meets the standards of the one you are leaving because you will not be happy - nor will your child.
