Manchester resident John F. Tinnirella honored with CFO of the Year Award

Hartford Business Journal Recognizes Hartford Region’s Top Chief Financial Officers

Hartford, Conn. (November 12, 2013) – This morning, the Hartford Business Journal recognized four outstanding Chief Financial Officers at its annual CFO of the Year luncheon at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, CT. The CFO of the Year ceremony recognizes a commitment to financial excellence and outstanding performance in the public, private and nonprofit business sectors.

“The CFO’s role in any organization is extremely crucial and we congratulate all of today’s winners as well as finalists on their commitment to financial excellence,” said Gail Lebert, publisher of the Hartford Business Journal. “We are honored to be able to recognize these four individuals and wish them continued success.”

The 2013 CFO of the year winners were chosen among 16 finalists. This year’s winners include:

Nonprofit: Paula Altierie, CFO, Hartford Public Schools
Private (less than 100 employees): John F. Tinnirella, SVP and CFO, The First National Bank of Suffield
Private (101+ employees): David Christie, CFO, COCC Financial Technology Solutions
Public: Christopher Swift, Executive VP and CFO, The Hartford Financial Services Group

In addition to celebrating the winners, the CFO of the Year event featured a keynote presentation by Patrick J. Flaherty, Economist in the Connecticut Department of Labor’s Office who spoke about labor economics.
