Readers' Choice: The Best Place to Eat Outdoors

Get those nominations in by Tuesday!

Driving around town on Sunday looking for a good place for a Mother's Day meal was eye-opening.

There are outdoor tables everywhere.

So with all that in mind, this week's Patch Readers' choice topic is your favorite place to dine outdoors.

So get us your nominations over the next two days.

Each week in Readers’ Choice, we ask all of you for help in highlighting the best of Manchester. Here’s how it works.

• We'll ask a question about your favorites.
• We invite you to post your nominations in the comments below.
• We hope you'll also spread the word about this to your friends on Facebook and Twitter and get them involved.
• Feel free to submit comments until 5 p.m. Tuesday.

• We'll take the top three or four nominees and post an article first thing Wednesday morning.
• That article will include a poll with the top nominees.
• After the poll starts on Wednesday, you'll be able to vote until Friday at 5 p.m.
• On Saturday, we announce the winner.

It's not what you're looking for, but: The hill outside of Shady Glen! Everyone who grew up in town knows the joy of eating a cone while sitting on the hill and then ticking your parents off by rolling down it with a belly full of fudge. It's a magical thing.

Some of my favorites in Manchester include Hartford Road Cafe (excellent patio), Catsup and Mustard (great hangout, limited outdoor seating), Shea's Sports Bar and Grill (great outdoor area with live music, however the food is sub-par), and Stone and Paddle Restaurant (nice little patio, larger tables to accommodate parties and good service).

One of the best benefits caused by the ban on smoking in public places is that now many more places have outdoor seating. I like the Hartford Road Cafe patio; only ruined by the cars speeding by. Adams Mill has a nice patio and it's off the road.
