Plaza Azteca Plans Outdoor Dining Area

The proposed patio would be able to accommodate 97 patrons at 20 tables and include an outdoor bar.

, the popular Mexican restaurant on Slater Street near the mall, has a proposal before the town's Planning and Zoning Commission to add an 1,808 square foot outdoor patio to its existing business.

The plans call for a fenced-in dining area with a decorative wall that would be able to accommodate 97 patrons at 20 tables and would also include an outdoor bar. The area of its business that Plaza Azteca has proposed to locate the patio is currently a landscaped lawn that includes one tree (a diagram of the proposed patio is attached to this article).

According to Senior Planner Renata Bertotti, Plaza Azteca already has more than enough parking spaces to accommodate its current indoor dining facility, which can handle seating for a maximum of 233 patrons, as well as those that would be added by the outdoor patio. The plans do not call for any existing parking spaces to be lost as part of the patio expansion.
