Zhong Dong has applied for a building permit to convert the space at 956 Main St. into a Chinese takeout restaurant called Manchester Chinese Cuisine. Dong initially asked for an illuminated neon sign to advertised the business, but in a letter Director of Economic Services and Economic Development Mark Pellegrini advised that the illuminated sign did not meet Main Street's "architectual guidelines." Dong has since agreed to a 30 by 192 inch awning sign in black showing the business' name in bold red letters. It is unclear when the renovations will be complete and Manchester Chinese Cuisine will open.
Lin's Garden, another Chinese takeout/sit down restaurant, is also located on Main Street at 846.
