Manchester Chinese Cuisine Coming to Main Street

The former Pittaza restaurant at 956 Main St. is in the process of being converted into a Chinese restaurant.

If you like Chinese food, Main Street in downtown Manchester could soon be your destination.
That's because Main Street will soon see another new Chinese restaurant opening its doors.

While the owners of Beijing Restaurant on East Center Street are in the process of converting the former home of Dynamic Percussion at 575 Main St. into a Chinese takeout restaurant - which will be named Panda King - the same thing is occurring at 956 Main St., the former home of the Pittaza restaurant.

Zhong Dong has applied for a building permit to convert the space at 956 Main St. into a Chinese takeout restaurant called Manchester Chinese Cuisine. Dong initially asked for an illuminated neon sign to advertised the business, but in a letter Director of Economic Services and Economic Development Mark Pellegrini advised that the illuminated sign did not meet Main Street's "architectual guidelines."
Dong has since agreed to a 30 by 192 inch awning sign in black showing the business' name in bold red letters. It is unclear when the renovations will be complete and Manchester Chinese Cuisine will open.

Lin's Garden, another Chinese takeout/sit down restaurant, is also located on Main Street at 846.
