Night Of Fine Food, Wine, And Higher Education

Culinary arts students at Manchester Community College will host a seven-course dinner where local food lovers can wine and dine in support of higher education.

The classic French menu, which includes six courses of wine, will be prepared by advanced students in the MCC hospitality program. Proceeds will benefit the college's competition cooking and ice-carving teams.

This year's entree will be Poulet Saute a la Catalane, a chicken dish first created by Auguste Escoffier, the father of French cuisine. It will be accompanied by a fish appetizer, salad, sorbet, cheese course and dessert.

Dinner and wine will be served at 7 p.m. in the Culinary Arts Center's Dining Room, where longtime instructor Glenn Lemaire will preside as the evening's sommielier. He will offer a different wine to accompany six of the meal's seven courses.

Cost is $75. For more information, contact Jayne Pearson at 860-512-2875.
