What's Happening at Bennet Academy!

We made it through October, a time of fundraisers:  The WALK-A-THON to benefit Bennet programs; the Lyman Pie Fundraiser, the Friendly's Dine Out Night, and SpiritWear, all to benefit Bennet PTSA enrichment programs for Bennet students, and The Fall Social, where the kids got to do some serious dancing courtesy of Connecticut DJ, and enjoy delicious pizza from Highland Park Market and chips courtesy of Big Y World Class Market!

Please join us Tuesday, November 12 from 7-8pm in the Media Center for the next PTSA meeting, where we will learn about Manchester's homeless and how it affects our Bennet population.   Along those lines, the PTSA has just begun a  Bedding And Bath collection for MACC's Emergency Homeless Shelter.  They are in  desperate need of disposable razors & shaving cream, toothbrushes & individual size toothpaste,  gently used towels & face clothes (clean and gently used are ok – no big stains or holes/tears please), light weight blankets – (no comforters please) may be gently used with no tears/holes or big stains.  A good guideline to follow is, if you would NOT use or allow a loved one to use the item  – do not donate it to the shelter.   There will be a box set up by the main office to take donations, and Bennet PTSA will deliver to the shelter by November 30.

We hope to see you at our next Dine-Out Night, Wednesday November 20th, 5pm-9pm at Chilli's on Buckland Street!  PTSA will receive 10% of all proceeds during that time as long as you use the special coupon!  Watch for that coupon to head home in your TNT folder!

The PTA Reflections Program is off to a great start.  Students at all Manchester Public Schools have been invited to participate in this program celebrating fine arts.  For more information, please visit http://publicschools.manchesterct.gov/page.cfm?p=988
