It's A Busy Week for Bennet Families!

Tuesday evening, a fair sized amount of people gathered in the Media Center at Bennet Academy for our first PTSA meeting of the new year.  Three very helpful students showed up to act as guides that night, along with Team Truth's Mrs. Albert, Principal Mr. Chella, a representative from the FLASH! Program along with a group of parents interested in learning more about the school year and how they can be involved.

We started with elections.  This year's Executive Board was voted in: Grahame Slogesky (yours truly) as President; Mindy Smith as VP; Shannon Kievman as Secretary, and Rich Walsh as Treasurer.  We are happy to be 'official' now as the year begins and we hit the ground running with a great year planned for the kids.

One of the great things planned is the fall social, happening Friday October 25 from 3-5pm at school.  We need to have parent chaperones and snack donations to make this event a big hit!  If you'd like to contribute your time (or food!) please email bennetacademyptsa@gmail.com.

Monday kicks off a busy week for Bennet families.  Teams  Truth, Lincoln, Ruby Bridges and Clemente will have Open House from 6-7:45.  On Tuesday, it's Teams Franklin, Escalante and Da Vinci's turn, also 6-7:45.  Both nights, we ask that you come early and head to the cafeteria between 5:15-5:55 to learn about Community Programs for your children.  PTSA will be located in the cafeteria along with other various groups.  We will have a membership table and be selling Bennet Spirit Wear, too...be sure to see us!

On Wednesday, it's Dine Out Night for Bennet Academy at Sweet Frog in the Plaza at Buckland Hills.  Bring the family for a sweet treat between 6 and 9pm and a portion of proceeds will benefit Bennet Academy's PTSA.  The best part is you don't even need to remember to bring a flyer - everyone gets to participate!

We hope to see you at Open House and Sweet Frog this week.  Remember, parental involvement = student success!
