Getting Social, and supporting Bennet Academy!

October always seems to be the time when everything happens at once - football,soccer, fall ball...families rushing from one thing to the next, to the next...generally with little more than a fistful of $5 footlong grinders and a blanket in the back of the car for those cold days cheering on the sidellines.

We know you're busy, we know how crazy things are for your family this month...so why not let someone else do the cooking AND help out Bennet Academy PTSA at the same time?

This Thursday (October 17) Bennet Academy PTSA presents our next "Dine Out Night" at Friendly's, 240 Buckland Street.  Here's the best part:  anytime, all day, if you use the Friendly's coupon, 10% of your bill goes to Bennet Academy PTSA!    Just download and print the special coupon here: http://publicschools.manchesterct.gov/uploaded/Bennet/Photos/Photo_Gallery/2013-2014/friendly_info.pdf.  Go anytime, though we're encouraging Bennet families to come out for dinner between 5 and 8, because it gives the students a chance to see each other supporting their school!

On Friday (10/18) our students are participating in a fundraising Walk-A-Thon at Bennet.  Each child's goal is to walk for 40 minuts areound the courtyard.  They're looking for sponsors to make a donation, which will be dedicated to enrichment programs for all students at Bennet.   There's a schedule for each team to walk during the day; and the school's in need of parent volunteers to mark laps, mist walkers, distribute water, and tally laps. and bottled water donations for the kids.  If you can provide either, please contact the main office at 860-647-3571.

And finally, on Friday October 25, the Fall Social takes place at school from 3-5pm. Students will enjoy music, games, and food provided by Highland Park Market and Big Y.  Parent chaperones and food donations are both  needed to help this event run successfully.  If you can give your time or a snack...please email bennetacademyptsa@gmail.com.
