The performances will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at the Manchester High School Auditorium.

The Silk City Barbershop Chorus of Manchester will kick off its 51st annual year with a pirate spoof themed show on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Manchester High School.

The show, entitled "Save Our Ship,” will be held in the high school's auditorium and performed at 1:30 p.m. and again at 7:30 p.m.

The chorus describes this year's show as "a parody on the role and lives of pirates from mid- to late 19th century." The 40-member chorus, dressed in pirate costumes with playful accessories, will perform such tunes as  “Drunken Sailor,” “How Deep Is the Ocean,” “Son of the Sea” and “Yo Ho! A Pirate’s Life for Me.”

The performance will also feature two  a cappella groups: A Mighty Wind, visiting from Atlanta, and the Forefront quartet from Ohio. Both groups earned medals in the 2013 International Championships.

Advance seating prices are Primary (front 4 rows): $28; Secondary: $23; Classic: $20; Standard: $17. Doors will open one hour before the show's opening. Parking is free. The facility is handicap accessible.
