Special Event: Celebrate Traditional Crafts Day

FREE Special Event: Celebrate Traditional Crafts Day
Saturday, June 2 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

Celebrate traditional crafts with a day of free demonstrations and activities for both families and adults celebrating the continuing tradition of making things by hand. Woodworkers featured in our special exhibit A Tradition of Craft: Current Works by the Society of American Period Furniture Makers will demonstrate age-old techniques and hand tools, with the chance to try them out. Several other traditional crafts, such as basket-weaving and hand-spinning, will also be on view, and a special area for kids will offer a variety of hands-on projects to make and take home. Demonstrations will be set up on the museum grounds (weather permitting) or indoors in case of rain. Food will be available for purchase, and the museum galleries will be open and FREE all day. For more information, visit www.CHS.org or call (860) 236-5621x209.
