Manchester High School's 6th Annual Jazz Fest

The Band will present JazzFest12 on Tuesday February 14 in Bailey Auditorium.  The public is invited to attend, free of charge, beginning at 2:30 p.m. after school dismisses.

18 high school and middle school jazz ensembles are slated to perform short concerts throughout the day until 8:30 p.m. There will be two featured performances during the day. At 4:50 p.m., the UCONN Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Earl MacDonald will perform a set of music written by Mr. MacDonald and Jim McNeely. At 7:40 p.m., the MHS Jazz Ensemble will perform with the three festival judges as guest soloists. Those judges are Earl MacDonald-piano, Douglas Maher-guitar, and John Mastroianni-alto saxophone.

JazzFest12 is in it’s 6th year. Band directors enjoy attending the festival for the high quality of the educational experience for their students. Student groups from as near as East Catholic High School, and as far as Mystic Middle School are scheduled to perform. Manchester’s begins the festival with a 10:50 a.m. performance.
