Jazz and Percussion Concert at Manchester High

One of Manchester High School's most unique concerts takes place on Wednesday, March 28 as both performers and audience members share the stage for the annual Jazz and Percussion concert at 7:30 p.m. This concert is free and open to the public.

Members of the school’s Jazz Combo and both Percussion Ensembles will perform a great mix of music made on a plethora of instruments. The nine-piece Jazz Combo is lead by Douglas Maher and will play a set of tunes recently prepared for and performed at the prestigious Berklee High School Jazz Festival in Boston. Their program features well-known jazz selections and many student soloists. The two percussion ensembles are exciting to see and hear as the students, lead by their teacher Marco Cancellieri, will perform on a wide variety of percussion instruments.

Musical selections range from pieces specifically composed for percussion instruments to arrangements of well-known favorites. Members of the Advanced Percussion Ensemble are also preparing for a late April music festival trip to New York.
