Beller's Summer Concert Series in Center Park - Mountain Road Classical

This week's performance features four classical musicians from the Greater Hartford area. Selections this evening will include: Beethoven Op 9 No 1 String Trio in G Major and Mozart Flute Quartet No. 1 in D Major.

Christa Conway has been a lifelong Manchester resident and musician, growing up through the strong music departments of the Manchester school system. In 2011, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Susquehanna University with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. While at Susquehanna, she had extensive performance experience, equally comfortable as a member of various ensembles and as a soloist. In 2010, she was a winner of the University's Concerto and Aria competition, and performed as a soloist with the Susquehanna Orchestra.  Christa completed her Performer's Certificate at the University of Connecticut in May 2012. Now back home in Manchester, she is an active strings and piano teacher and an ambitious performer.

Chris Devoe studied cello performance at the Boston Conservatory, the Hartt School of Music, the University of New Hampshire, and Central Connecticut State University. His private teachers have included Jennifer Combs, Rhonda Rider, Ronald Feldman, and Terry King. He has participated in masterclasses with Yo-Yo Ma, Joseph Silverstein, and the Shanghai String Quartet. In addition to performing and teaching, he spends a lot of time writing and recording his own music (as well as recording arrangements of others') and music by other accomplished musicians.

Tyler Gauruder also a lifelong Manchester resident, studies viola at the Hartt School of Music in West Hartford.  Past and present teachers include Steve Larson, Rita Porfiris, and Manchester resident Kathy Peet. An avid chamber musician, Tyler enjoys playing small ensemble music throughout the Hartford area and has collaborated with many of Hartford’s best musicians.  In addition, Tyler has played with The Manchester Symphony on several occasions as well as the Beth el Temple orchestra and always wants to play in local groups to support the greater Hartford areas music programs. Currently, Tyler teaches both the violin and viola at the one and only Beller’s Music in downtown Manchester.
