Celebrate 'Free Comic Book Day' This Saturday!!!

Most local comic book stores will be participating in the event Saturday, May 5.

After you catch "The Avengers" on the big screen this weekend, you can drop by your local comic book store on Saturday and pick up a number of select titles to further immerse yourself in the medium for free. 

That's right – FREE. 

For the past 10 years the comic industry has designated the first Saturday in May Free Comic Book Day, where participating comic book shops give away a number of select comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their stores. For more information about the event log onto the Free Comic Book Day website, and check with your local comic book store to see if they are participating and their hours and parameters for the giveaway. 

typically lets people select up to three free comics during the promotion, which he says is usually the store's busiest day of the year. Kozicki said that if any customers mention they heard about the event through Patch he will give them one additional free comic on Saturday.
