Area Churches Gearing Up for 2013 Manchester Summerstock

This local event of fun and activities is happening on Aug. 17.

The Manchester Conference of Area Churches (MACC) Charities is gearing up for the second annual Summerstock event, happening in Manchester in just over a week.

MACC, which is partnering with Stop and Shop, will be holding the event on Aug. 17, from 11 to 5 p.m., at 286 Broad St.

There will be activities for food for sale and activities for kids with all proceeds from the event going to charity. Check the above YouTube video for more on last year's event.

"To attend, we are asking all guests to purchase their purple SUMMERSTOCK bracelets ahead of time," the MACC said on its website. "The cost for a family of 4 or less is $5 (or 5 cans). The cost for a family of 5 or more is $7 (or 7 cans). Food can be brought to customer service at Stop and Shop and cash can be brought to People’s United Bank (both at 286 Broad Street) in exchange for bracelets for each member of your family."

"Help fill the truck with food for those in need! All food donations can be brought to Stop & Shop in Manchester and cash donations can be brought to People’s Bank inside Stop & Shop. Remember, getting a purple bracelet is your admission, discount on food, and access to all activities! Questions? Call 860-288-4256."
