Save the Park? Expand the Library? The Debate Rages On
Some feel the downtown library should be expanded; others oppose any expansion into the park.
Supporters and opponents of a plan to expand the Mary Cheney Library into a section of Center Memorial Park held a pair of dueling rallies in the park Saturday morning.
Both groups will have the opportunity to state their case Tuesday, when the Board of Directors has scheduled a special meeting to discuss the potential expansion of the downtown library. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the Lincoln Center Hearing Room at 494 Main St.
