Outdoor Pools Open Across Manchester

Lessons, lap swims, and aquatic classes available in addition to public swimming hours.

It took longer than usual thanks to a late-running school year, but it’s officially summer in Manchester and public pools across town have opened their doors for the season.

Five outdoor pools across town offer public swimming hours, adult lap swims, lessons for both adults and children, recreation camp swims, and various water exercise and fitness classes.

“We have about 45 lifeguards on staff who are enthusiastic and have fun, but at the same time they understand the safety needs of kids,” said Kathy McGuire, who supervises aquatics for the town of Manchester.  “They have all received extensive training and are certified in CPR, First Aid, and blood borne pathogens.”

All of the pools will be open seven days a week through August 19. The only exception is July 4, when only Globe Hollow will be open from 1-6 p.m.

Globe Hollow is also the only pool to offer an extended summer schedule, as it is open from Aug 20-28, with swimming from 1-6 p.m. daily.
