MDOG to Host 2nd Annual Bowser Ball

The Manchester Dog Owners Group will host its 2nd annual Bowser Ball from 7 p.m. to midnight on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at the Manchester Country Club.

The Manchester Dog Owners Group (MDOG) will host its second annual Bowser Ball fundraiser on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at the Manchester Country Club.

Typically, when MDOG hosts an event the money raised goes towards maintenance and completion of the second phase of the town's dog park at Mt. Nebo, but this year MDOG President Alysia Duke said the group will also donate 10 percent of the proceeds to benefit Great Harvest Bread Co. and its employees. A late night fire on Oct. 12 burned down the building that housed the bread company and all its equipment.

"Great Harvest has always been one of our biggest supporters," Duke said. "In the five years that we've been in business as the Manchester Dog Owners Group, they've never said no to us no matter what their business looked like. And now they need our help."

Duke said MDOG is also asking guests to bring a major department store, grocery store, and MC/Visa gift card for employees of Great Harvest, many of whom will be out of work during the busy holiday season. Those who bring a gift card will receive an extra entry ticket for the raffle door prizes.

Tickets for the Bowser ball cost $50 and include a buffet dinner, a glass of champagne (there will be a cash bar), a silent auction and a night of dancing. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the event will continue until midnight. The last day to purchase a ticket is Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, according to Duke.
