Manchester Groups Offering Events, Free Admission for CT Open House Day

Four city groups will be offering some neat perks — like reduced or free admission — this Saturday, June 8.

Museums, parks and businesses across Connecticut will be celebrating CT Open House Day this Saturday, June 8, including a few locations right here in Manchester.

Cheney Homestead & Keeney Schoolhouse, Lutz Children’s Museum, Manchester History Center, Old Manchester Museum and Woodbridge Farmstead will be offering perks and special events to those who pay a visit this weekend.

From 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., take a free tour of the historic theater, now home to Little Theater of Manchester, along with a craft and artisan fair.

Free admission from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tour the family home of the Cheney brothers, founders of the silk mills.  The original farmhouse with antique furniture and clocks and visit the one-room schoolhouse. Site on the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route.
