Imagine Main Street to Host Thursday Night Happenings

Imagine Main Street’s First Thursday events continue on Thursday, July 11th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. with “Hot Summer Night” happenings.  This month’s happenings were delayed one week by the 4th of July holiday.  The evening provides an opportunity to enjoy downtown dining, shopping, music, art, wine and artisan creations.

Imagine Main Street’s mission is to revitalize the downtown historic district of Manchester CT through the economic and cultural impetus of the arts.  This year’s Strollin’ on Main event is dependent on critical community partnerships with organizations such as the Town of Manchester, the Downtown Manchester Special Services District and Manchester Community College.

Highlights of the Thursday’s program include:

Music – The Beller’s Summer Concert Series kicks off with John Mayock and the Homesteaders performing Country/Folk music from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Local Art – Art will be on display at Frame Dimensions, 681 Main St.; Katherine’s Hair Design, 695 Main St. and at 705 Main Street.  Manchester High School student jewelry design and sales along the sidewalk at 705 Main St.  The Dehn Gallery at MCC on Main will host an Open Mic with Emcee Kemet Maroon and the Manchester Art Association Member Show.

Wine Tasting – A wine tasting and photography display at Garaventa Photography
