The Great Vigil of Easter

Bishop Jim Curry of the Episcopal Diocese of Conecticut will be the Celebrant for the Great Vigil of Easter at St. Mary's that combines ancient rites with contemporary meaning.  A combined choir of more than forty voices from Emanuel Lutheran, Concordia Lutheran, and several Episcopal congregations "East of the River".will be featured. The Rev. JoAnn Post, Pastor of Concordia Lutheran Church, Manchester will preach.

The service begins outside with the kindling of the new fire, moves to the church hall for a candlelight vigil telling stories of salvation, and then into the church for the renewal of baptismal vows, and celebration of Communion. The offering will benefit the feeding, shelter, and counseling work of the Manchester Area Conference of Churches (MACC).  Participants are invited to bring a small handbell to ring announcing the Resurrection.
