Cruisin' on Main Street 2013 to be Dedicated to the Late John "Randy" Thrall

Thrall, a longtime member of the Cruisin' on Main Street Committee, passed away earlier this year.

Organizers of the Cruisin' on Main Street in Manchester will be remembering an old friend and colleague when the event begins next month.

The committee coordinating the Aug. 4 event has dedicated the 2013 cruise and show to John “Randy” Thrall, a longtime committee member and true ”Old Car Man” who passed away earlier this year.

"John’s knowledge of and appreciation for vintage vehicles, along with his community spirit, dedication and interpersonal skills, helped to shape Cruisin’ into one of the most successful cruises and shows in the northeast," the committee said in a news release.

As a further tribute to John, his 1941 vintage police car has been selected as the official Cruisin’ 2013 car. It will appear on the Cruisin’ dash plaque and official Cruisin’ 2013 t-shirts. Plans are underway to have the car on display at the show, the committee said.

Cruisin’ 2013 is scheduled for Sunday, August 4, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. along Main Street in Downtown Manchester. Show car registration opens at 8 a.m. All vehicles must be 1988 or prior. Show car registration is $10 and spectators are free.
