"5 Things You Need to Know About..." Weekend Plans, A Malloy Visit and More

Local highlights for Thursday, March 3.

1. Looking for things to do in the area this weekend and beyond? With everything from Bon Jovi at Mohegan Sun to the production of Neil Simon's "Rumors," our has you more than covered. So check it out. 

2. The Manchester Redevelopment Agency is scheduled to meet at 7:30 a.m. Thursday (yes, 7:30 a.m.) in the Lincoln Center Hearing Room to discuss the next steps in the redevelopment of the  and implementation of the Broad Street Redevelopment Plan. 

3. Gov. Dannel P. Malloy will be in the area Thursday. Malloy is the keynote speaker at the East Hartford Chamber of Commerce's Annual Meeting, 5 p.m., at the Pratt & Whitney Museum at 400 Main St., East Hartford.

4. The Lincoln Center, 494 Main St., will also host a Small Business Night Thursday, starting at 5 p.m. Representatives from the Planning and Zoning and Building departments will be on hand to answer questions about land, building and space regulations and permits. 

5. And our friends at the Lutz Children's Museum sent us their monthly column, , highlighting many of the museum's offerings for the month of March.

Not mentioned, though, is an event Thursday at the museum entitled , which is geared toward teaching children ages five to 10 about the Mardi Gras holiday and its origins.
