Five local highlights for Thursday, May 12.

1. The Cheney Tech girls softball team to Wilcox Tech in Meriden Wednesday.

4. Thursday will also see a special meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission followed by a special meeting of the Manchester Redevelopment Agency, at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. respectively, in the Manchester Room of Town Hall, 41 Center St., to discuss form based zoning. 

5. And efforts to repeal the state's death penalty law look like they have been again following a recent meeting between Dr. William Petit and one of the state Senate's key swing votes.
