"5 Things You Need to Know About..." Planning Meetings, Beautified Parkades, and Local Premieres

Your local highlights for Monday, June 20.

1. The Planning and Zoning Commission will meet Monday at 7 p.m. in the Lincoln Center Hearing Room, 494 Main St. It's a relatively light agenda for the PZC – aside from a proposed change to zoning regulations that govern outdoor restaurants, there's little else of interest on the agenda

2. Space is still available for anyone interested in competing in a Wednesday, June 22, at the Tradition Golf Club at Windsor to benefit several local charity organizations –  the Manchester Area Conference of Churches and the Beth Sholom B’nai Israel Brotherhood.

3. A group of local artists joined together to cover the dilapidated Broad Street Parkade in over the weekend, an event organized by the Manchester Art Association.

4. A will take place Monday afternoon in Hartford from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ramada at 363 Roberts St. in Hartford. 

5. And local filmmaker Danny LeGare will premiere his latest film, "Marco Polo Boys," at the . The film, shot in Ellington and Stafford Springs, is about a young man who returns home to Connecticut after seven years in California to find that shockingly little has changed. The old gang, called the Marco Polo Boys, gets caught up in its old habits while the lead character is torn between that life and one with the love of his life.
