"5 Things You Need to Know About..." Jazz Concerts, Women's Conferences and Bullying
Here's a quintet of local highlights for Wednesday, April 27.
1. The Manchester High School band will host an evening Wednesday night in the Bailey Auditorium of the high school beginning at 7:30 p.m.
2. The takes place on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Maneeley's Banquet and Catering in South Windsor (65 Rye St.). The conference's keynote speaker is Olympic gold medalist swimmer.
3. Celebrity chef , best known for his two appearances as a contestant on Bravo’s hit show Top Chef, returned to his alma mater, Manchester Community College, recently for a fundraiser and to give some tips to student's in the school's culinary program.

4. The Zoning Board of Appeals will meet Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Lincoln Center Hearing Room to review, among other applications, East Catholic High School's request for a variance to hold an outdoor carnival on its grounds June 15 to June 18. The ZBA's full agenda can be viewed here.
