"5 Things You Need to Know About..." It's Friday (and Some Other Stuff Is Happening Too)!

TGIF – with local highlights!

1. Buster Keaton's silent screen classic – truly one of the greatest movies ever made, sound or no sound – will screen Friday evening at 7 p.m. at the Little Theatre of Manchester. Karen Krinjak will accompany the screening on the grand piano.  Suggested admission is $10. 

2. The Lutz Children's Museum will host several classes Friday dedicated to. The classes will run from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and will cost $10 for members, $12 for non-members. 

3. Vito's by the Park in Hartford will host "Come Fly With Me," featuring the Rob Zappulla Quintet Friday evening from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. The cost is $33 per person for a buffet dinner and the show. Call 860-244-2200 for reservations or more information.

4. Wanna be a zombie? Seriously. Well, if you do, then you might be in luck, because Synthetic Cinema International, a Connecticut-based production company, will be at Manchester Community College this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The film is scheduled to shoot in the Mystic area over the summer. 

Compensation includes low pay, free meals and, of course, the ability to brag to all your friends, family and people you meet randomly that you once played a zombie in a zombie movie. So, yeah, you'd have that going for you...

5. And Rockville High School will host a Friday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
