The Greater Hartford Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) held their annual JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes at East Hartford's Rentschler Field, and the event raised over $157,000. Two Pratt & Whitney teams were among the 98 teams that participated in the Sep. 29 event, and they helped collect more than $3,900 for JDRF. The Walk raises funds for people living with and affected by type I diabetes. The day proved to be fun for many, including the Pratt & Whitney employees and their families pictured here. Speeches were made by several guests just prior to the start of the 1.5 mile walk, which was grand marshaled by UConn Basketball Coach Emeritus Jim Calhoun.
