On Wednesday, January 8, “Beer, Burgers & Managing Your Bucks” – a series of monthly networking and money-management gatherings for young adults at MCC on Main in Manchester – will start the new year off with some professional guidance for younger first-time homebuyers.
The evening’s guest panelists will include Edward Fournier, Branch Manager at Connecticut Home Mortgage in Glastonbury, and Catherine Chevalier, an attorney at LaBelle, LaBelle & Naab in Manchester.
Among the topics they’ll discuss are how to determine if you’re ready to get into the housing market and figuring how much house you can afford to buy. They’ll also familiarize attendees with mortgages, the financing process and the legal “lingo” found in real estate contracts.
January 8’s event starts at 5:15 PM at MCC on Main, 903 Main Street, Manchester. The first half will be devoted to networking, beer sampling and sliders. The second half will feature the presentation, followed by a Q&A session.
January’s featured brewery is Firefly Hollow, a Bristol-based craft beer company. Sliders will be provided by Corey’s Catsup & Mustard in Manchester.
Admission is $5 at the door. For information call 860-647-6030 or visit www.manchestercc.edu/bucks
