12 Days of Onyx Cocktail Crawl

December 11, 2012 (MANCHESTER, CT) – Twelve restaurants in greater Hartford announced Tuesday that they will be participating in “The Twelve Days of Onyx” Holiday Cocktail Crawl throughout Greater Hartford.

The twelve day celebration will feature custom crafted holiday themed cocktails with locally produced Onyx Moonshine, and will be carried by each restaurant during the 12 days and featured on the restaurant’s assigned date.  

A portion of every Onyx Moonshine bottle and cocktail sold during the twelve day period will go to benefit End Hunger Connecticut!, a local non-profit whose mission is to eliminate hunger in the state through legislative and administrative advocacy, outreach and public education. 

“We wanted to do something fun that would draw customers in to some of Hartford’s best local restaurants while benefiting a great cause,” said Onyx Spirits Company co-founder Adam von Gootkin.  “These cocktails are being created by some of Connecticut’s best mixologists and this will be a special way to celebrate the holidays and support local small businesses,” he added.

Friday, 12/14 - Market Grille, 110 Buckland Hills Drive, Manchester

Saturday, 12/15 - Grant's, 977 Farmington Ave, West Hartford

Tuesday, 12/18 - Max Burger, 124 LaSalle Road, West Hartford

Wednesday, 12/19 - Feng Asian Bistro, 93 Asylum Street, Hartford

Thursday, 12/20 - Tisane's, 537 Farmington Avenue, Hartford

Friday, 12/21 - Taqueria Tavern, 140 Park Road, West Hartford

Saturday, 12/22 - Plan B, 120 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury

Tuesday, 12/25 - Front Street Bistro, 39 Front Street, Hartford

Wednesday, 12/26 - City Steam, 942 Main Street, Hartford

Thursday, 12/27 - Pond House Grille, 2935 Main Street, Glastonbury

Friday, 12/28 - Firebox, 539 Broad Street, Hartford

Saturday, 12/29 - Republic, 39 Jerome Avenue, Bloomfield

All restaurant patrons will be invited to submit their names to win a free Onyx Moonshine cocktail party at their home for 20 friends with no purchase necessary.  Patrons will also be invited to vote for their favorite cocktail by visiting facebook.com/onyxspirits.

Market Grille (by Erica Shea):  “Moonshine Man”  - Gingerbread Infused Moonshine, Forbidden Secret (American Bailey’s), Coffee Liquer, Fresh Cream, Served with whipped cream, Gingerbread Garnish, Cinnamon & Sugar sprinkle. 

Grant’s (by Johnny T):  “Old Time Mountain Shine” – Blueberry Hibiscus Tea Infused Onyx Moonshine, Cinnamon Cane Syrup, Fresh Lemon Juice, Old Time Aromatic Bitters, served over ice in a mason jar.  Garnished with lemon wheel & cinnamon stick.

Max Burger (by Cara Passarelli):  “…And Everything Nice” – Vanilla infused Onyx Moonshine, Domain Canton Ginger Liqueur, Fresh Lemon, Homemade Gingerbread Syrup, Jerry Thomas Bitters, served in rocks glass over cranberry infused ice cube. 

Feng Asian Bistro (by Pat Delucco):   “Sugar Plum Saki Martini” – Onyx Moonshine, Moonstone Plum Saki, Pom Pomegranate/Blueberry Juice, Lemon Grass Simple Syrup, served with vanilla sugar rim on the lip of the martini glass.

Tisane’s (by Eric Williams):  “Onyx Gingerbread Man” – Onyx Moonshine, Amaretto Disaronno, Fresh Cream, Gingerbread Syrup, Real White Chocolate. 

Taqueria Tavern (by Louis Delgado & Dave Blanck):  “Onyx Mexican Hot Chocolate”  - Onyx Moonshine Infused with Bitter Sweet Home-Made Mexican Hot Chocolate, Fresh Whipped Cream, Laced with Cayenne Pepper, served in a mason jar. 

Plan B Glastonbury (by Kim Wessel):  “About Friggin’ Time”  - Fig infused Onyx Moonshine, Simple Syrup, Bitterman’s Hiver Amer, Fresh Thyme, served on the rocks.  

Front Street Bistro (by Justin Morales):  “Onyx The Snowman”  - Candy Cane Infused Onyx Moonshine, Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur, Kaluha, Golden Eggnog, Served in a Martini Glass and garnished with a small candy cane.  

City Steam (by Anthony Sousa):  “Naughty Onyx”  - Orange Rind Strip, Whole Cranberry Sauce, Superfine Sugar, Onyx Moonshine, Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur, Finish with Club Soda, served in a gibralter glass with a garnish of of floating cranberriesa and orange rind.

Pond House Grille (by Emily Kilroy):  “The Rosy Kringle”  - Chartreuse Rinse of Glass and Rime of Crushed Peppermint, Onyx Moonshine, Muddled Mint, Cocoa, Ramazzoti Averna, Agave Nectar, served in a rocks glass and topped with seltzer and garnished with mint leaf.
