VIDEO: Making a Joyful Noise for More Than 50 Years

The Silk City Chorus will perform its 50th annual show, entitled "Everybody Loves A Hero," at Manchester High School on Saturday, Jan. 14.

has been doing its 80-man, A cappella, Barbershop harmony-thing for a long time. They've been doing it for 50 years, to be precise.

That means they've witness the rise and fall of the Kennedy family, seen a man walk on the moon, lived through multiple wars, not to mention recessions, the advent of the home computer, cordless telephone, the Internet,  and, of course, Jersey Shore. So it's a safe bet to assume that the group has stockpiled plenty of material for its 50th anniversary performance.

The Chorus’ 50th anniversary show includes Broadway show tunes, calypso rhythms, hilarious parodies and a musical theme embracing superheroes. Entitled “Everybody Loves A Hero”, this year’s show will take place on Saturday, Jan. 14 in the newly renovated auditorium of Manchester High School. There will be two performances, at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. that day.
